Lose weight with probiotics

Lose weight with probiotics? For a long time they have been touted by the dairy and health industries: probiotic foods and supplements! They are supposed to have a positive effect on general health, keep the intestinal flora in balance, and even help you lose weight. Colondrink team explains whether and how you can lose weight with probiotics.

The desire: Lose weight with probiotics

Probiotics refer to a specific composition of microorganisms that contain a variety of lactic acid bacteria. Lactic acid bacteria are also known by the scientific name Lactobacillales and can, among other things, contribute to a healthy intestinal flora.

But how exactly can probiotics be used to lose weight? Several hundred intestinal bacteria support our digestion. Just as complex as their interaction are the individual digestive processes themselves. Therefore, a few facts in advance:

Most of our intestinal bacteria are benign. They can be divided into two superordinate families: The Bacteroidaceae and the Firmicutes. Lactic acid bacteria also belong to the latter.

It has long been hypothesized that the ratio of these bacteria to one another can have a major influence on our own body weight.

The science is divided: The following studies present the conflicting findings of the science and what mechanisms in the body might be affected by probiotics.

REMINDER!

Probiotics are living microorganisms that provide health benefits when they enter the intestine in sufficient quantities. We are offering to consume colon drink for at least 2 months for the best results. Colondrink contains 27 strains and 900 trillion CFU (good bacteria). Also, colon drink is dairy-free. So, if you are vegan, it is the best probiotic on the market. Costco, Walmart or Kroger don’t sell anything like that. Do not miss a chance to get it now!

An unbalanced intestinal flora makes you fat

Several studies show that overweight people and animals have a different intestinal flora composition than normal-weight people.

For example, the intestinal flora of overweight humans is composed more of bacteria from the Firmicutes family and less of representatives of the Bacteroidacetes.

Furthermore, an exchange of gut bacterial composition between overweight mice and normal-weight mice showed strong effects on body weight. The normal-weight mice gained weight rapidly. These findings underscore the major impact that gut bacteria can have on our weight.

REMINDER!

The composition of our intestinal flora has a great influence on our body weight.

Probiotics have an influence on weight gain

Overweight and obesity are among the most widespread diseases par excellence, which can promote the development of other diseases, including meningitis.

At this point, the fundamental role of a healthy intestinal flora becomes apparent. This is because probiotics support it and have a preventive effect against systemic inflammatory processes and obesity.

Taking a probiotic preparation for four weeks showed that subjects who ate 1000 calories in addition to their daily requirement gained less weight than subjects in the control group who received only a placebo preparation. Thus, probiotics may prevent weight gain.

REMINDER!

Taking probiotics can have a preventive effect against weight gain.
Three mechanisms – this is how probiotics work in the body.

Probiotic intake can affect the following three metabolic processes, among others. One or the interaction of all three mechanisms may explain the reduced calorie intake during intake of lactic acid bacteria. How to lose weight with probiotics:

Probiotics inhibit fat absorption: some lactic acid bacteria support the increased excretion of ingested dietary fat. The fat thus does not burden the daily energy balance.

Probiotics promote satiety

Probiotic bacteria support the formation of the satiety hormone GLP-1, which has an appetite-regulating effect in the body. GLP-1 is also thought to have an effect on fat burning and support the weight loss process (8).

Probiotics increase ANGPTL4 levels: ANGPTL4 is a protein that is thought to reduce fat deposits on the abdomen. Probiotic lactic acid bacteria cause protein levels to rise and thus have a preventive effect against abdominal fat.

The type of probiotics is crucial

There are many different lactic acid bacteria behind one family name. Some strains can have an impact on our weight and on fat deposition specifically in the abdominal area. Other strains have the opposite effect, according to studies. So the type of probiotics is critical to whether weight loss is supported or inhibited.

REMINDER!

Probiotics can inhibit fat absorption, support fat burning, and prevent belly fat from setting in.

Lactobacillus Gasseri – losing weight with this probiotic

The most significant influence on weight and fat deposition in the body is shown by the probiotic lactic acid bacterium Lactobacillus Gasseri. Numerous human and animal studies confirm its preventive effect in relation to weight gain.

One study examined 210 overweight subjects while taking Lactobacillus Gasseri. Within twelve weeks, weight, BMI, waist circumference, and fat deposits on organs were reduced. Overall, there was an abdominal fat reduction of 8.5 percent.

The significant impact of the probiotic on abdominal fat reduction is underscored by the fact that all of the subjects’ abdominal fat had reattached within one month of discontinuing the supplement.

In addition, what helps against fat accumulation in the abdominal area, explains nutritionist Benjamin Foks:

“Belly fat is a general storehouse of excess calories. So if you take in more energy than you consume, this is stored in fat cells. Genetically controlled, these tend to be on the abdomen in men and on the hips, buttocks and back of the upper arms in women. In order to avoid fat accumulation, it is therefore first and foremost important to consume more energy than you take in. In addition, high-fat and high-sugar foods should be avoided, as our bodies can hardly utilize this energy and it is very quickly stored in the depots.”

The duo: Lactobacillus fermentum and Lactobacillus amylovorus

In a randomized controlled double-blind study (currently the safest procedure), yogurt was mixed with the above-mentioned probiotic lactic acid bacteria.

Healthy but overweight subjects were divided into two groups and given either placebo or probiotic yogurt with their daily meals.

After six weeks, the subjects who had taken probiotics had lost three to four percent of their body weight.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus

Women benefit from probiotic bacteria: Researchers observed 125 overweight women and men as part of a 12-week diet program followed by 12 weeks of maintaining their new body weight.

One group of subjects was given a probiotic containing Lactobacillus rhamnosus in addition to their reduced-calorie diet.

It turned out that women taking the probiotic lost over 50 percent more weight after the first three months than their comparison group with placebo preparation. They also continued to lose weight over the following twelve weeks. No significant effect was found in the men.

REMINDER!

Some strains of probiotic lactic acid bacteria, especially Lactobacillus gasseri, can support weight loss and reduce abdominal fat.

Lactobacillus acidophilus – promotes obesity

A comprehensive meta-analysis evaluated the results of several human and animal studies. Intake of the probiotic Lactobacillus acidophilus was not associated with weight loss, but actually resulted in weight gain.

Another overarching review of multiple study results found that probiotic intake overall did not result in weight loss, lower BMI, or less body fat in overweight adults.

REMINDER!

The studies cited show that the strain of bacteria is critical to whether you lose weight while taking probiotics.

Lose weight with probiotics – that’s where you come in. The probiotic lactic acid bacteria are mainly available as preparations. The lactic acid bacteria also serve as preservatives in lactic acid fermented foods such as sauerkraut.

But beware! When heated, the helpful bacteria die and thus lose their potential weight-reducing effect. Just drink the cabbage juice pure. If you do not like cabbage juice, you can try our vegan probiotic product Colondrink.

Do probiotics now help with weight loss? The unbalanced study results speak for themselves. Not alone lactic acid bacteria support slimming. As a basis, you should combine a fiber-rich, balanced diet with plenty of exercise. With a slight calorie deficit, you can then lose weight even without probiotics.

Easily reduce your daily calorie intake by eating a low-carbohydrate diet.

Probiotic bacteria have other health benefits: they strengthen the immune system.

REMINDER!

If you want to lose weight with probiotics, you can use preparations or non-heated lactic fermented foods.

Knowledge to go

Probiotic bacteria are primarily lactic acid bacteria that aid in our digestion. They have many health-promoting properties, such as strengthening the immune system.

But can probiotics be used to lose weight? The science is split, as the probiotic bacteria family includes many different species. Some may support weight loss, while others may not.

The fact is that healthy digestion is the basis for a successful diet. Eat plenty of fiber to support your gut flora.
